Merry Christmas - Let’s Experience Many More🎄

For the majority of people, I think it’s safe to say Christmas is a happy, enjoyable, stress reducing and wholesome time of year.

Is it because of the endless stuffing balls and yorkshire puddings? Yorkshire puddings belong on a Christmas dinner…right?

Maybe it’s the fact that there’s enough chocolate around the house than you know what to do with🍫

Generally we have more time off work, spend more time with friends and family, spend quality time with our partners, enjoy great food and beverages and watch those once a year films that give us a great laugh…home alone, the grinch and elf just to name a few📺

Christmas and New year for many people also boost social connections as we interact with a lot more people during this time.

It’s no coincidence then why people feel healthier and happier at Christmas and New Year. We simply connect with more people and laugh more, this releases happy chemicals in our brain 😁🧠

It can also explain why people get anxious and depressed in January. Not only because we are back to work, but also because we are having less social connections with our friends and family.

We often just accept that we will see our friends and family in person once a year around Christmas because well..it’s Christmas.

But the truth is, making an effort to see our friends and family more frequently and increasing these social connections beyond just once a year can greatly improve our overall wellbeing.

I’ve made a fair argument for just how great Christmas is, it can make us much happier and healthier by reducing stress and boosting social connections, and generally making us appreciate the people around us.

But the truth is, the average person experiences approximately 72 to 83 Christmas’s.

And this is if we are lucky, to fight for future festivities with all the amazing things that come with it, and most importantly prolong this amazing life we are gifted, we need to stay healthy by improving our diet and exercising more.

Improving our diet and exercising regularly reduces our risk of heart disease and strokes, reduces the risk of diabetes, reduces the risk of certain cancers and reduces the risk of depression and anxiety.

Christmas and New Years are amazing holidays to celebrate, but to experience as many as we can..we need to fight for these future festivities🏃‍♀️🏋️🎄
